Clay pricing: unlimited seats, and a meter on every enrichment
Clay pricing charges nothing for people and everything for work. Seats are unlimited on every tier, including Free, so adding a rep costs zero. You buy two meters instead: Data Credits, the currency Clay spends buying data and AI from its 150+ partners, and Actions, the platform capacity your plan includes. Since 11 March 2026 they price on independent sliders, so your bill is the sum of the two rungs you land on.
Key takeaways
Launch starts at $185 a month and Growth at $495, each an Actions rung plus a credit rung you pick separately. Annual takes 10% off.
Seats and tables are unlimited on every plan, including Free. Clay meters work, not headcount.
Data Credits start at $0.05 and fall to $0.0425 at 50,000 a month. Actions start at $0.004.
A failed enrichment costs nothing on either meter, and neither does a row a conditional run skips.

What Clay actually meters
Clay meters two units at once, and neither one is a seat.
Actions measure orchestration. Each enrichment, AI run and record exported counts as exactly 1 Action, whatever the provider. Sourcing lists is free, and so are CRM, warehouse and webhook imports, formulas, filters and moving data between Clay tables. Prospecting costs nothing until you enrich.
Data Credits measure what Clay buys for you, and they vary by provider rather than by task. An enrichment runs 0.5 to 10 or more credits, and a fully enriched record costs 6 to 20. An email costs 2 credits through Hunter.io or Prospeo and 5 through People Data Labs. A mobile number starts at 2 and reaches 15 through ContactOut and 25 through Datagma. In a waterfall, every step returning data and every validation step spends both meters until a validated result lands.
Two escape hatches matter. Connect your own provider keys and the Data Credit cost disappears while the Action still counts. Conditional runs put a formula in an enrichment's "Only run if" box, so rows failing the test spend neither meter. Filters and formulas are free, making qualification before enrichment the cheapest move in the product.
How credits work
The two meters behave nothing alike once the month ends.
Actions reset every cycle, never roll over, and can't be bought as a one-off. More Actions means a tier upgrade, which Clay justifies by sizing each plan to cover 90% of customers.
Data Credits behave like money. Monthly plans accumulate unused credits to 2x the allowance, so a 10,000 credit plan banks 20,000 at most. Annual plans roll 15% of the annual total, and Enterprise 15% of the prior year's purchased credits, both conditional on renewing at the same or higher commitment. Downgrade and your balance drops to the new plan's ceiling at cycle end.
Top-ups carry a 30% premium, down from 50% on legacy plans, minimum 250 credits and $1,000 each, capped together at 4x the monthly allocation, 10x on Flex, and $5,000 a week. Clay passes token cost through with no markup on its variable AI models, and never publishes what it pays providers for anything else.
What happens when you hit the limit
Two limits produce two different failures. Run out of Actions and Clay points you at the next tier, because there's no top-up path. Run out of Data Credits and credit-consuming work stops until you buy more. Automatic top-ups prevent that: admins on paid self-serve plans set a threshold of at least 15% of the cycle allowance, and Clay charges the card on file before the balance empties. Free, Trial and Enterprise workspaces can't use them.
Enterprise gets a harder stop by design. Admins cap spend per workbook, and when a cap is hit every credit-consuming process there halts, functions called from elsewhere included.

changing a dedupe setting re-ran the entire workbook and blew through our entire month’s credits ($1000 in credits burned) with no clear warning.
